Everyone needs a good Tonic now and again!

So yeah, I've had family intervention. After using my Tonic Twisting Veranda and Beautiful Blooms dies over the past few days, my husband says all we need is a monorail and some fireworks and the house would look like Disneyland! I admit it, I've gone a little overboard on my recent makes. They are large, dimensional and pretty darn cool! The dies are now safely tucked away until my next inspirational moment.   Now, I've die cut in the past but nothing intricate or fussy. It's mainly been for apertures or the odd leaf or sentiment. But I've recently bought some Tonic die sets - first was the Beautiful Blooms and then Twisting Veranda.  I'm not gonna lie, it was tough getting to grips with this sort of die cutting. I intentionally stayed away from social media as I needed to figure it out myself and wanted to create something totally me.  It took nearly 5 hours to get to grips with these dies - but you have to remember I had no idea what I was doing and it's...

It's all Hunkydory!

Hello! It's been awhile but I had an accident with a scalpel then fell down the stairs! I did manage to make a few cards recently so thought I would pop them on here to show you. I've not made Hunkydory Christmas cards before and wasn't sure what to expect. I see A LOT of people use HD so thought I'd follow suit! To my surprise, the four cards I've made have turned out ok -  let me show you... Snow globe aperture card made with Hunkydory Cute Christmas - The North Pole - with distress glitter around the card front. Here I made a cheeky triangle fancy shaped card with Hunkydory Festive Elegance, Festive Treats.   Just a close up of some of the detail of the triangle card. And here I show you how to secure the card together. I'm sure there are other ways to secure it, but I couldn't think of any. haha With this velcro fastener it allows you to post the card flat. Here is another card using  Hunkydory Festive Elegance, Festive Treats. This time it's a sweet...

Christmas Clear

It's been another crazy week for me here in Conrwall and the weekend couldn't come soon enough!  For this post, I knew I wanted to use the same little deer I used last Christmas but in a different way. I purchased some Hunkydory acetate, and rummaged in my Craftwork Cards sentiment stash to create a few really modern cards.  I had to rack my brain for a while to figure out what I was doing but once I decided on full acetate cards, it came together quite nicely. Materials used: Hunkydory snowfall acetate Craftwork Cards sentiment two memory box dies (deer and tree) adhesive Stickles, felt paper ProMarkers embroidery thread.  Although these cards are quick and easy to create, they're also quite effective and very modern looking. I cut and scored the acetate to make a 5.5 x 4.24 inch card and then hand cut the shape for the snow. You'll need to make sure you cut through two layers of paper or felt so you can stick one on the opposite side, which will cover any signs of adh...
