Hi there!

Hello and welcome to my little corner of creativity. Here, I find peace and joy in the art of papercrafting, where each project is a gentle journey into the beauty of handmade treasures. Whether you're here to learn, find inspiration, or simply enjoy the process, I hope this space brings you as much happiness as it does to me

Hello and welcome to the stamp club blog hop! I'm always so excited when Maria asks me to take part in the hop. I've made a ton of cards but I'll be sharing four with you today and a cheeky YouTube video of a special card I made.

Sunflowers are my favorite flower and they mean so much to me. My momma is a true bohemian and I had a fabulously diverse childhood filled with love, adventure, and and a dash of eccentricity. We lived on a commune for about 18 months until I was 4 and my Grandpa had to gently remind my mom I needed to start school soon and that's when we headed back to more of a standard environment, although not as fun, lol.  My first experience of sunflowers was on the commune. We would frequent the sunflower fields in season and let me tell you, it was something to behold. If anyone has ever been, they will know what I mean when I say it was vast and the sunflowers are HUGE.

We moved around when I was young but as a coincidence we always ended up near sunflower fields and to this day it's one of the most vivid memories I have as a child - Grant's Pass, Portland, Salem and then onto Southern California.
So, when Maria asked me to take part in this blog hop, I felt completely inspired and have thought about each card I created very carefully.

Card 1- I'm so glad we're friends (Mini Slimline)

This is a mini slimline card and it measures 6.5 inches by 3.5 inches. I generally start off with something clean and simple. I find it gets my creativity going and often leads to other ideas.

Card 2 - You brighten my day (ATC)
I do like little notelets and the smallest sunflower was perfect for this sweet ATC. This is little but mighty and took me back to when I was a small child surrounded by the beauty of sunflowers.

Cards 3 and 4 are my yin and yang, one clean and tidy and the other a little more free. I often do this with cards as I love the same but different thing.

Card 3 Hey Sunshine (shaped)
I can never get enough of sunflowers and wanted to make a clean card, focusing on the flower and the beautifully rich colors of the alcohol markers. Did you see that paperclip? It's a die! It's an older die but seriously, someone needs to bring out a set of paper clips and tabs. Please lol
Card 4 - I appreciate you (A2)
I'm thinking this is sort of a mixed media card, or maybe I've dipped my toe into that world. My last card in this first set is the most detailed and used wet and dry mediums. I’ve colored the sunflower head in with Nuvo Alcohol Markers and the rest with Aqua Flow Pens and ink.

When you see the two cards together you might understand where I was coming from - they're the same, but different.

  1. Lovely cards. I love how you stamped a sentiment along the stem of the flower on the one card. So clever.

  6. Really like your set of cards! However, one does jump right out at me and that is the mini slimline card. Using the sentiment for the stem is such a neat idea! Thanks for sharing your story about your love of sunflowers and what they mean to you. I could not locate your video.
