Watercoloring with Shimmer Powders, Altenew Blossom & Bloom

Hi everybody! Can you believe we are well into November already?! Christmas is just around the corner but I still like to color my beautiful florals, no matter what month we're in. Today, it's the Blossom & Bloom stamp set from Altenew. I absolutely love stamp sets that are great value for money and buy sets like this every month.

Thank you for using my affiliate links to shop, your support is greatly valued, and I shall endeavour to share as many inspirational posts as possible.

The sentiments are also really meaningful, which is so important to me at the moment. I'm still not able to see or visit some of my friends and family, so cards with sentiments are a nice way to let them know I am thinking of them, I miss them, and they are important to me.

This is a quicker style than I normally do, but I'm learning to have more fun with my designs and to utilise all the mediums I have. These Nuvo Shimmer Powders are vibrant, east to use, and fun!
Instructions
  • Cut watercolor panel, 5 inches by 3.75 inches. Stamp the large floral image in the bottom left of your panel with watercolor friendly ink.
  • Mix a little water with a tiny amount of powder. Colors used are, Cherry Bomb and Atlantis Burst.
  • Add yellow to the centre of your flower. I used Zig yellow and Tan brush markers.
  • Allow to dry completely and then add a gentle wash to the background with Atlantis Burst.
  • Leave to dry or heat set and then add white acrylic ink and Atlantis Burst splatters to your panel.
  • Stamp the three sentiment stamps directly onto your card panel.
  • Add Malted Milk Crystal Drops and Peppermint Candy Vintage Drops to your card front.
  • Pop the panel up on 3mm foam pads and adhere to an A2 card.
  • Add a paperclip for a little interest to complete this project.
Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope this card has inspired you to play with your stamps and mediums and to have fun!  Lots of love, Jen
