Full Front Vellum Shaker Card

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I have a super cool shaker card to share - made with vellum! It's no secret that I have a difficult time with acetate. I don't like touching it, and it gives me the heebie-jeebies but over the last few years, I've learned to deal with it.  However, I still prefer 'other' materials for shaker cards - like this wonderful Sweet Pea Slimline card!

All of me loves all of you, slimline vellum shaker card

  • Stamp out all the images and two sentiments from the Royal Sweetpea Set onto the watercolor card.
  • Very quickly, use the clear embossing powder over top and heat set. I prefer to use clear embossing powder over black as you will not have any escaped pieces of black powder to ruin your image.
  • Die-cut all the images and sentiments and then use white ink to splatter everything but the sentiments. Set aside to dry.
  • Next, take a full sheet of vellum and die-cut it with the slimline full front shaker die . Die cut a piece of white card with the additional die in the set.
  • Using double-sided adhesive, stick three sides of the vellum die cut to the back of the white card panel. This creates a pocket for you to add sequins, creating a full-front shaker.
  • Use foam pads on every die-cut and carefully place them onto the front of the vellum panel.
  • Now, place the sentiments, one at the top, and the other at the bottom. You want as much of that beautiful floral design on show as possible.
  • Once all the die-cut pieces are on top of the vellum front, You can now add the sequins. I've selected the sequin mix - Peacock Tails because of the beautiful, rich colors. You might think they are a little dark for our floral card, but the vellum adds an opaqueness to the card front which gives the sequins an almost frosted look, which is perfect!
  • Take off that last piece of double-sided tape so all four sides are now sealed. Complete the card by adding a slimline card base.
Isn't this beautiful! The stamp set is soft, delicate, and gorgeous! I love the sentiments, they really add a little something extra - and to have a 'sister' stamp is so important to me. I have two sisters whom I love dearly, and it really touched my heart to be able to make something and to think of them.

Thank you for visiting today, and I'll see you soon!
