Mini Slimline Twilight Silhouette

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a fun and easy way to use your dies. I generally cut my dies out with either watercolor, smooth, or colored card, but you can also cut from black card to make beautiful silhouette scenes. The new Stamp Club, Wildflower Wonderland is just so perfect for this type of project, how could I resist!

Mini Slimline Twilight Silhouette

  • Cut a piece of watercolor card 5.75 inches inches by 2.75 inches.
  • Use Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens straight onto the watercolor panel, but make sure it's damp first. The colors from bottom to top are: Tomato Juice, Spiced Ginger, Mango Mimosa, Evergreen Fern, and Indigo Batik. I've added the ink into a painters palette and watered down a little to for a less pigmented wash.
  • Blend out the colors with a large round paintbrush and when it is nearly dry, splatter with a little water and use a tissue to pick up the excess color. This leaves a very subtle, almost dreamy texture.
  • Once completely dry, use Nuvo Black Ink to create a dark border. Start at the bottom and work up into some of the red base. Blend the black in around the sides and up around the top corners.
  • Trim a piece of black card 6 inches by 3 inches, and mount your twilight panel onto it.
  • Die cut a ton of wildflowers in black card. Start decoupaging up some of the dies, 2, 3, and 4 times with foam pads and/or adhesive. Trim the dies to create a beautiful wildflower scene.
  • Mount onto a mini slimline card base, 6.25 inches by 3.25 inches.
  • White heat emboss the sentiment onto black card, trim to size and adhere to the card.
  • Add a few diamond sequins to complete your project.

It feels like the twilight sky whispers to us the promise of a new day, and that's something I can always get behind. Do you enjoy inky background as much as I do, and if so, do you use a mixture of paints and pens? I love it all and have so much fun when I create cards like this.
Thank you for visiting me today and I hope you like my project. If you have any questions please pop me a comment and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Have a wonderful day today and I'll be back very soon!
Sending lots of love and crafty hugs,
Jen
